“Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you - TopicsExpress

“Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you on some points, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by God, that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.” This passage has a very few important truths in it. Although Paul confirms that they are righteous, having knowledge, able also to admonish each other, he speaks to them as a minister for their edification. The Gentiles mentioned in the passage are them, for this epistle was to the Romans. That is how God speaks to us his children. A level of intimacy is expressed by not walking on egg shells. It is to strangers that we naturally seek to please, for we do not hold them accountable nor care as much to care. “If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” God does this that we might be acceptable, sanctified to Himself through the Holy Spirit. Praise the Lord!
