Now THIS is what hardball feels like. Gazprom will cut off natural gas exports to Ukraine if the regime changers in Kiev do not pay their bills by June 2. Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller laid down the law - adding that Kiev owes more than a staggering $3.5 billion to Gazprom. Miller also told Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev that Gazprom would send a preliminary bill and will only keep delivering the amount of gas for which Ukraine has paid. Medvedev, on top of it, encouraged Gazprom to only accept advance payments from Kiev, adding he had not seen any signs Kiev is ready to pay their bills. Time to use the first $ 3 billion tranche of that IMF structural adjustment cash. Oops, cant do! Thats to pay PREVIOUS IMF loans. And Western bankers.
