Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says I know Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. I John 2:3-6 antichrists (false teachers) will appear - but there will be one great antichrist who will rise to power during the end times - as I John states. He will deny that Jesus is the Christ. He will deny both God and the Father, and God the Son. He will be a liar and a deceiver. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world. I John 4:1-3 By the end times, many will be easily deceived and embrace the antichrist because his spirit will already dwell in the world. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and 4 describe the antichrist as the man of sin. Here, Paul, like John, is also warning believers about the antichrists ability to deceive: Let no one deceive you by any means, for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple, showing himself that he is God. 2 Thes 2:3,4 The falling away must come first....the Greek term commonly means a military rebellion, but in In Scripture, falling away is used as rebellion against God, which will prepare the way for the antichrist. Some translate the term as departure, and believe it to be a reference to the Rapture....that the man of sin could not be revealed until Christ comes to take His church to be with Him. As far as the Word itself is concerned, it could refer to a spiritual departure (falling away), or it could refer to a physical departure (the Rapture). The man of sin will proclaim himself to be divine and will sit on the temple of God, acting as if he is God, and the antichrist is the final declaration of that blasphemy. He will tolerate no one else being worshiped but himself(Rev 13:6-8). THE ONE WHO DESERVES ALL WORSHIP AND PRAISE DOES NOT COMMAND WORSHIP, BUT INSTEAD CAME TO THIS WORLD AS A SERVANT....IN CONTRAST, THE ONE WHO DESERVES ONLY CONTEMPT PRESENTS himself as a god. I was watching, and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. Thus he said: The fourth beast shall be a kingdom on the earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces....Dan 7:23. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to the sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations, shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate. Dan 9:26,27 One common interpretation maintains the 62 weeks added to the 7 weeks of v 25, resulting for a total of 69weeks or 483 years. If they are added to the date of the decree of Artaxerxes in Neh 2, 445 B.C., with the adjustment to allow for the 360 -day year, the end of the 69 weeks coincides with the date of the crucifixion of Jesus. Other interpretations indicate the Messiah in this verse refers to Cyrus, who was also called the Lords anointed. So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant. And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there an the abomination of desolation. Those who do wickedly against the Covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; BUT THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD SHALL BE STRONG, AND CARRY OUT GREAT EXPLOITS. Dan 11:30-32 Antiochus committed an abomination of desolation....he desecrated the temple, and set up an idol to Zeus in it. His actions were a prelude to what the ultimate man of sin will do(Matt 24:15). Then the king shall do according to his own will; he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done....Dan 11:36. At this point the antichrist is introduced. This king is distinguished from the king of the north(v40), therefore he cannot be Antiochus Epiphanes. And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. One significant interpretation is that these days refer to the middle of a seven-year period of tribulation prior to the coming of Christ. At that time, the antichrist will abolish the abominable and idolatrous sacrifices that he had established. SO WHEN YOU SEE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, SPOKEN OF BY DANIEL THE PROPHET STANDING WHERE IT OUGHT NOT....THEN LET THOSE WHO ARE IN JUDEA FLEE. Mark 13:14 THIS SIGNALS THE ONSLAUGHT OF PERSECUTION. BLESSED IS HE WHO WAITS, AND COMES TO THE ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE DAYS. But you, go your way to the end....for you shall rise to your inheritance at the end of the days
