Now in Italian press its allo about: oh! Lets change things! Lets imitate the Germans! Because we had to wait Germany to win a World Cup to understand that things were to be changed. They had to be changed already 8 years ago when Italy won, however, for many, that trophy meant hey! Were cool, lets go on!. After 8 years we are on the same point where we were 8 years ago if not even worse. Nothing changes in the stagnating life of the Italian football and life. Because football is a mirror of society, never viceversa. We all expect footballers to give the example, and we all expect football to lead the change. Football, in its authorities, managers etc. does not want to change. A clear example is how a person like Moggi (Calciopoli, if you know what I mean) is still revered by many. Uli Hoeness went to prison for tax fraud, this guy is still behind the curtains of the transfer market (see Immobile to Borussia Dortmund). But this is just an example, the biggest, I can bring. In Italy revolutions are not popular, no one will make them. Once the dust of the World Cup will set, we will go back to business as usual in our short-sighted shop-keepers vision of things, egoism of everydays petty things. Then in four years, we will get deluded of not winning a World Cup. Unfortunately this is Italy: a beautiful amazing disorganized country. Individuals are able to do great things...alone! Theres never a support, a back-up, an organization behind. I benevolently mocked at the German organization in building the Campo Bahia and the way they communicated with locals etc. as a form of captatio benevolentiae, however, they won already this way. We will never do something like that. Italian things go popular by inertia, because we live on the back of our great past, traditions, history, culture, language etc. If we had 50% of the organization Germans have, we would rule in everything. Instead, initiative most of the times is left to individuals as organizations are just political bodies with no soul, tied by quorums and by board decisions of grey bureaucrats like Gianfranco Abete&Co. all there since the start of times, state boyar tied to their seat. We will never change. We will probably win another World Cup, but we will never change.
