Now... in a less formal post... Our restaurant is closed today..... why you may ask? Were friggin busy. Crazy busy. A level of busy I wouldnt have predicted in a million years. It may be because were the new hot girl in school.... but even with that... I see the same people every day. Its not new folks coming to check it out (I mean, it IS... but the minority). The same people have been coming into the restaurant and waiting over an hour for a table multiple times a week. There are no words that I can muster that will allow me to express the appreciation I have for every single person that has walked in the door. Sovereign has occupied 90% of my life for the past 6 months. My children have sacrificed their time with me.. my mom, Jess, everything and everybody... and the response that Sovereign has received has made it all worth it. Thank you Thank you to every single one of you that have come out to support. From all the industry people (the guild, the brewers, the reps and distributors...) the foodies... the bloggers... MY CRAFT BEER ARMY that comes in with great anticipation at our newly tapped beer list... THANK YOU I had folks from grammar school out to support - old friends from HIGH SCHOOL... THANK YOU!!!!! Old friends, old Tap House regulars, my DENTIST, old Bennigans folks, co-employees... drinking buddies.. everyone..... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Dale Lewis Jessica Watson Dave Donohue - had you guys told me 4 years ago when I was enjoying my DFH Squall and milk bombs that within a few short years the 4 of us were going to accomplish what we did, I would have told you to just go drink another milk bomb in between our vomiting sessions behind Finnegans. I still wake up in the middle of the night and have nightmares about digging in the basement, sanding chairs and praying that the village would give us a chance by looking past the minority naysayers, and those that fought to stop our dream. I still cannot believe what weve done. I am dedicated to each of you, and am looking forward to more of the same. As Dave eloquently stated in the past, you guys are indeed family now.
