UC Chapter President Greg Loving wrote a column in the chapter newsletter today about the widespread mismanagement at UC and other universities that contained this gem: And who is left to pick up the pieces and deal with the consequences? The “long-timers”: the Faculty who actually do the work of education. We’re here when the start-up money runs out, when the cluster hires go bad, when the budgeting model crashes, when the branding is re-branded and then re-branded again, collecting a drawer full of pins, buttons, stickers and t-shirts documenting an archaeology of obsolete vision.
