Now matter how the outcome of this years Dakar plays out for us......I would like to put a few things into perspective for you guys. We had 25 people in total in our support team.....we had guys from South African, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Brazil, Portugal and American. Many of these guys had not met each other before the start of this Dakar....besides this we had language and cultural barriers we had to overcome. We had to work in the toughest and most challenging conditions with minimal sleep for a period of 2 weeks while having to remain unified and committed as a team. We had limited budgets and resources but we had a common goal and that was to take on whatever the Dakar threw at us..... What is my learning from all this - as long as a team or group of people have a common objective and goal then they will always head in the same direction...... irrelevant whether there are language or cultural barriers! I am extremely PROUD to have been part of this team and have the utmost respect for each and every one of these talented and committed individuals! Limited budgets, limited resources but big hearts and even bigger balls..... #extremelyproud
