Now that PM Yingluck has promised to withdraw all amnesty bills, - TopicsExpress

Now that PM Yingluck has promised to withdraw all amnesty bills, some are seeking to overthrow the government. I have no problem with the Pheu Thais being ousted from power -- but it must be through the ballot box, not through a non-democratic method like mob pressure. We get the government we deserve, and if we think we deserve better, the way to change things is to vote for somebody who offers an alternative thats better and is feasible. Rather, what we should do now is to follow the seer Laocoons advice to the Trojans: Beware of Greeks bearing gifts, meaning, be wary of those who mean you no good. Thaksin may have lost this skirmish, but he will be back at the first opportunity. This whole conflict could have been avoided if he had followed the example of Abhisit, Suthep Thaugsuban, the army, and protest leaders and declared that he did not want an amnesty -- yet, he did not do so. To me, he gave up justice for the 92 killed in the unrest to save himself -- which is why Nattawut Saikua, et al saw through him and didnt vote for the amended amnesty bill.If he can give up his disciples, would he care for you and me? Learn from this, and mature politically.
