Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can officially announce that I have accepted a new part-time job offer as Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter for the City of Pierre! I will begin local training through the month of November and then travel to Salt Lake City for a full week of Live Burn ARFF training in early December. I am excited for the new skills and experiences I will gain from this opportunity and look forward to all the great training to come. The opportunities given to me in a 1-year period after joining the Pierre Volunteer Fire Department has been nothing but rewarding! I am now a proud member of Engine Company No. 4 of the Pierre Fire Dept, Pierre Rural Fire Dept, and Pierre Airport Rescue Fire Fighter crew. Thank you to everyone in my life who has been supportive and help me accomplish my goals and achieve these honored privileges and duties for central South Dakota!
