Now that the dust has settled from the horror that was the election and the anger and sadness has subsided I feel like I can move forward. And I know many of my generation have processed theses same feelings and are ready to take the next step! So heres my 5 cents worth of what we could do: Firstly start informing ourselves about what is really going on and use discernment to determine what u believe is truth and propaganda. Start to take action by talking to others about your thoughts and ideas with your family your friends. Start to join other like minded groups (who r just ordinary people )who have had enough and want to promote justice, fairness, and equality. ( eg. I am going to be a part of a group that wants to challenge the govt about the TPPA . Dont know how were just ordinary Peoria but weve had enough) also At the moment there are 3 issues that are on my radar, The way we exploit papatuanuku, The TPPA deal, and inequality ( that promotes the status quo, institutional racism, poverty, violence, depression, disconnect to ones indigenous culture, a low voter turn out, and mea Te mea...) And Yes there is 3 more years to hopefully mobilise the people and hoping the labour govt get their shit together to inspire Maori to come out in droves to vote but history has shown that the labour leaders are not very smart. Therefore I believe that realistically we have 21 years to mobilise a (distracted) generation to leave this world a better place for the next generation. Im in it for the long haul!
