Nuala O’Donovan [Ceramic sculpture] 이번 작품은 아일랜드 아티스트 Nuala O’Donovan이 산호, 산토끼꽃, 솔팡울 같은 프랙탈 구조의 자연물에서 영감을 받아 정교한 수작업으로 제작한 세라믹 조각품 입니다. O’Donovan 은 그것들의 패턴을 조사했을 뿐만 아니라 무작위로,예상할 수 없이 생기는 변칙성에 대해서도 면밀히 관찰했습니다.그녀의 이야기를 빌리자면, 조각의 형태를 결정짓기 위해 프랙탈 기하학 구조의 특성을 이용하였지만, 아직도 잠재적 변화에 대한 가능성은 남아있다고 합니다. 개인적으로 그녀의 표현력에 박수를 보냅니다 :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nuala O’Donovan [Ceramic sculpture] Irish artist Nuala O’Donovan sculpts intricate hand-built porcelain forms that resemble fractal patterns found in nature. Borrowing from shapes found in coral, teasel flowers, and pinecones, O’Donovan examines not only patterns, but irregularities that arise from random or unexpected events. From her artist statement: The result of using the characteristics of fractal geometry in making decisions regarding the form of the sculptural pieces, is that the form is resolved but retains a sense of potential change.
