No, we are not talking about Doc Brown, the new inventor is Jim Pitts who was inspired by Marty McFly’s floating skateboard and has managed to complete the world’s first working hoverboard Hendo . The Hendo floats using four disc-shaped hover engines to create an inch-high bubble of magnetic force between the board and the ground, combined with an array of stabilizing apparatuses. Unfortunately, this new hoverboard hovers over surfaces that also happen to be non-ferromagnetic conductors. Inventors say, that one day they will invent hoverboards that will effortlessly float over water. How useful is that? Tech publication reports that he already has a safety device in his home with the ability to levitate the entire building in the event of an earthquake.
