Nuggets from 36… Psalm 36:5-10 (NKJV) 5 Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast. 7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. 8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. 10 Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart. What does it look like to put our trust under the shadow of His wings? We have to first determine what is under the shadow of His wings. Safety, security and all the promises of God rest there and as we dwell in that shadow we are strengthened by those promises. This Psalm says we are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of His house and he gives us drink from the rivers of His pleasure! What a promise! Through the Holy Spirit we have access to rivers of living water (John 7:38). In verse 9 the word fountain means origin. He IS the origin of life and only through Him can we see light and be light. This Christmas season is a time when many are more open to see light. Let your light so shine before men that they see God through you!
