Nuit Blanche 2014 Volunteer Call out! Dear students, The FOFA Gallery, IITS Cinemas and VAV Gallery are proud to present our 2014 programming for Nuit Blanche 2014. This exciting experience will take place on Saturday March 1st, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. between the FOFA Gallery in the EV Building and the VA Building. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the following positions: Tour Guides: The tour guides will be scheduled around our four screenings and they will take visitors between our two sites, the FOFA Gallery in the EV Building and the VA Building where individuals are free to ask questions about the programming of this event and to navigate the city in case these spaces are unfamiliar to the visitor. Being bilingual is important but not necessary for the position, although note that this will be an event open to the public. Applicants are not required to have prior experience with being a tour guide and we encourage all undergraduate fine arts students to inquire. We are looking for approximately four to six volunteers that would be available for the entirety of our programming. Documentarians: The role of the archivist in this event is to utilize multiple social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, to capture the event. Our goal is to have continuous and active digital archive that can be accessed during the event and after. The volunteers will be asked to mobilize between the FOFA Gallery and VA Building in order to capture each site’s events. We are looking for 4-6 undergraduate fine art students to volunteer for the position. Mood Watchers: We ask for 2-4 volunteers that will assess the overall ethos of the event by observing the visitors’ reception of the event. The role is to engage with visitors about their questions as well as ensuring that all events are running smoothly. You will be in correspondence with security staff to ensure that things are running smoothly. We will contact all applicants and schedule a meeting time with you all to discuss further details. The deadline for all volunteer is Monday February 10th at 11:00 p.m. We will be sending out additional information and volunteers will have to commit to meeting outside of the event to be introduced to the Nuit Blanche team!
