Number 2 on my list: Sheer Heart Attack (1974): youtube/watch?v=oMXyqyT4FWs It was more difficult to decide number 2 and 3 on my favorite Queen albums list, but I went with Sheer Heart Attack as the better album, because it is! Even though the songs may not flow as well as the songs did on Queen II, the songs are better on Sheer Heart Attack. The album opens with the fast paced, guitar heavy Brighton Rock, and then goes into Queens first big song, Killer Queen. Combining quirky lyrics with a unique sound, the song has all the qualities Queen offered before in Queen and in Queen II but with more precision and conciseness. Side A then continues with Roger Taylors rocking Tenement Funster, which flows into the devilish Flick of the Wrist, and then into the softer, piano driven Lily of the Valley. Then the album ends on the guitar heavy, fun, head banging song Now Im Here. It is the perfect song to open a concert with (which is what Queen often did after it produced this song). Side B has more of a musical variety than Side A, including a lullaby-esque song in Dear Friends, progressive rock in Laps of the Gods, and then an early thrash metal song in Stone Cold Crazy. To tell you the truth, I believe Queen was much more aware of performing for a live audience during the production of this album than in their previous two records. Most of the songs are fun, fast paced, sing-along-able, perfect in order to entertain a crowd. It is a ton of fun to listen to! Therefore, I will give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Favorite songs: Lily of the Valley, Now Im Here, Killer Queen
