Numerous conservative blogs, radio personalities, and pundits have attributed the labels Marxist, Socialist, Communist and more to Pres. Obama and the Democrats since 2008. Recently, a conservative satirical website, The People’s Cube, released an article called “Communists Sue Democratic Party For Stealing Platform.” It soon began hitting numerous forums without some people’s knowledge that it was not a real news story. Basically, it announces that the Communist Party USA will be filing a lawsuit against the Democrat Party for violating copyright laws and plagiarizing the Communist’s platform into its own. While we know that no lawsuit exists, it did beg the question, “Are the two parties’ platforms very similar?” So, we took a look at the 2008 and 2012 Democratic National Platforms and the Communist Party USA’s platform, website, and pamphlet material. We covered the majority of high profile issues and copied and pasted their positions to show a side by side comparison below. What do you think? Similar? Not similar? Tell us what you think? By the way, the Communist Party hasn’t run a presidential ticket since 1984. They endorse Obama in 2012 and 2008, sort of endorsed Kerry in 2004, and every other Democrat presidential candidate since 1988.
