Nuts About the Perth Kilt Run Posted by Perth KiltRun on Monday, July 29, 2013 Under: Race News Families registering for the Perth Kilt Run on the morning of Saturday, 10th August will be entertained by the Perth & Kinross Red Squirrel Group (PKRSG). The PKRSG team will provide a range of fun activities, including colouring in and a guess the squirrel birthday competition, at Bells Sports Centre. Whilst fun is foremost, PKRSG also aims to publicise the plight of the red squirrel and promote support for the conservation of this iconic Scottish mammal. “Our aim is simple,” explains PKRSG Secretary David Wood, “we are lucky to have a significant red squirrel population in Perth & Kinross but it’s vital that we protect these enchanting creatures right across the region and help to increase their numbers.” Full details of the Group’s work can be found at pkrsg/. Also a keen runner, unfortunately David is injured at present and won’t be able to take part in this year’s event, “I’ll be on the sidelines cheering the other runners on and hoping that Perth secures the kilt race world record this year,” he says.
