O God, thou hast bound us together in a common life. Help us in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront each other without hatred or bitterness, and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect. Grant us not to be anxious about earthy things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among the things that are passing away, to hold fast to those things that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
