O.S.Thyagarajan (OST) sirs Shankarabharanam Alapana last Saturday for his concert for Madhuradhwani at the Arkay Convention Center, Chennai, proved yet again that here is a Master who is in full form, at his peak and capable of delivering exalted performances. Tyagarajas grand composition but relatively lesser heard Emi Neramu was rendered with depth and devotion and likewise the elaborate niraval at the charanam line Deena Bandhu... With Mysore Srikanth, Thiruvarur Bhakthavatsalam and Vaikom Gopalakrishnan making up the very distinguished team, the jam-packed hall was testimony to the success of the concert. A particularly appealing aspect was the sarva-laghu swaras in Shankarabharanam especially while executing the kurappu swaras with all possible dhatu permutations and combinations that sounded really refreshing. To sum it up OST=Continued Inspiration! :-)
