O uo mo aso uma, ae o uso mo aso vale .. similarly translated to English - Friends are there everyday, but family are for times of crisis. This is my favorite saying being raised under the roof of a strict Samoan father, when my siblings and I were younger and fought this is the saying we recieved. My brother you are not yet in your time of crisis. If you were, no doubt itd be different. Theres a difference between NEEDING help and taking advantage. If you think the little help your friends are giving you now, is worth more than what your family has given and try to give you, you have got your priorities mixed up. I can tell you right now, that is not love! Your friend will give only expecting something in return. When your family give, you will only be expected not to betray their trust. Hopefully this will help a few people get their ish together cos man is this getting on my nerve.
