OAU FEE HIKE CARE PRODUCTS Taking a critical look at the contigency measures the management offered the Students Union to cushion the effect of the school fee hike- Students Workstudy, Instalmental payment, and Scholarship Scheme. From my humble view Work Study and Scholarship Schemes are not new to us. Infact Great Ife Students have been enjoying these care products before now. The monthly salary for students on work study is around N5,000. Also the lowering of the criteria for Students Work Study from CGPA of 3.5 to a CGPA of 2.0 still will not help matte. Because I believe that those below CGPA of 2.0 are higher in number. On the issue of Instalmental Payment for up to two Semesters. This may be new, but its nothing to cheer about. What if a student is unable to balance off at the end of the session, does it mean his/her studentship will be terminated. If Ekiti State University could allow her students to study and pay on/ or before graduation, I see no reason why the OAU management- a much more funded Federal University could not do like wise to Great Ife Students. I think the management leveraged on the ignorance of our Students Union Leaders to offer them these rebranded care products with the same contents. Accepted our Leaders may be ignorant of these rebranded care products. But we will not let them down. We will encourage and support them to get it right this time around. An injustice to one, is an injustice to all. Great Ife Students are now wiser. Mr VC Sir, Madam DSA, could you please stop playing games with our hearts and do the needful. You may have won in the year 2011. But year 2014 is our own year of victory! You cannot win us again-home and away!! God Bless Great Ife Students!!!
