OCTOBER SURPRISE: ISIS advancement in the world, Stock market erratic behavior, Ebola, a woman beheaded in mid-America, police in NY attacked with an ax, weapon-carrying clowns, etc. The Jewish new year began Sept. 25th, 2014. It is a special year called the Shemitah year. It means a letting drop, a release. It occurs every seven years and is similar to a Sabbath. The Jews of old time were supposed to let their crops lie fallow that year and rest. Also, debtors were to be released from their debt to their creditors. It was all done to honor the Lord to show that they knew their true sustenance and blessings came from His hand, not of their own efforts. When the Jews stopped keeping the seventh-year Shemitah sabbath/rest, it really showed that they were forgetting God, and trusting in their own efforts to supply their blessings, instead of the Lord. Thus, the Bible says that God sent them into captivity of their enemies to discipline them and remind them that without Him, their own efforts are not enough to provide their blessings or their safety. Although the United States is not under the Jewish Old Testament laws, God still disciplines his children. The NEW Testament says about Gods discipline: For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes those he accepts as his children. 7 As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Whoever heard of a child who was never disciplined? 8 If God doesnt discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children after all. Hebrews 12:6-8 The last two Shemitah years (2001 and 2008) the stock market fell dramatically at the end of the Shemitah years. This Shemitah year ends next fall (mid-September 2015). If history and Gods word proves correct, the stock market in the U.S. will take a terrible fall next September. It happened on a smaller scale this September and October. These are the warning shakings. We need to take the upcoming year to repent and grow strong in the Lord. If the U.S. as a whole does not repent, then next fall will prove to be much more challenging than this fall. If our economy crashes next year, we need to be able to hear from the Lord for directions for our food, shelter, etc. Also, ISIS is also on the move, desiring to cut off the heads of Christians. We all need to take advantage of the warning God has given us this autumn to prepare for the trouble coming next autumn. Spend more time in prayer and in reading and studying Gods word.
