OES had the privilege of hosting a few different groups for RAGBRAI. Approximately 70 riders from Adaptive Sports Iowa (ASI), a group that aims to help people with physical disabilities enjoy the activities theyre passionate about, providing a sense of independence rather than isolation. Another group was called, Hope For Gabe (H4G), which is a group biking across the U.S. to create an awareness for Duchenne, a form of Muscular Dystrophy, of which their 9-year old son, Gabe, has been diagnosed. Many inspiring stories were shared in the short time we had together! I feel blessed to have met so many truly wonderful people with such positive attitudes and also to share our wonderful building with these people. They were very impressed by our elementary building!
