OF PROPHETIC SEEDS AND HEARING GODS VOICE! A Pastor approached a stupendously wealthy man of God one fateful day to inform him that God asked him to give him a brand new car! He replied the Pastor that God was yet to speak with him about any car gift! The Pastor walked away and came back to make the same request of the rich man of God but he still told him God was yet to speak to him and turned him down. This aptly captions the theme of this brief charge. God is neither a beggar nor an author of confusion! He would not ridicule His anointed servants by sending them to collect seeds from people without first putting it in the hearts of the recipients of the divine seed-giving message. I remember how a young Warri Pastor told me during my National Youth Service year that God asked me to sow my Toyota Camry saloon car which I wanted to sell prior to my overseas trip as a seed into his budding ministry. I almost believed him out of sheer reverence for the Most High God but for the fear of what to tell my parents who purchased the car for me, I politely denied! I prayed and prayed seeking to get Gods approval to give out the car in obedience but heard no such thing! Honestly, If God had spoken to me and given me the go-ahead, I would have given out the car and damned the consequences! But alas, He did not! It is so sad that our society pervades an admixture of the genuine and the counterfeit, the God-called and the self-called! This has made us to subject Gods voice as relayed by His prophets to deep scrutiny and rationalisation. But my charge is that you stop being foolish by giving without confirmation! Have a discerning spirit and do not sow unprofitable seeds to swell the fortunes of spiritual fraudsters, Gospel blackmailers and bearers of Gods message without a corresponding message to the addresses! Sowing seeds into the lives of fake Prophets is like planting seeds on the rock! It will never germinate! May God grant us understanding! -Tosin Ayo, (The word bank).
