OF WOMEN, TOLL FEES & FAKE DEGREES WOMEN ON MATENITY, PADS Goromonzi West legislator Beatrice Nyamupinga and her MDC counterpart for Glennora Priscilla Mushonga are making a big noise in parliament about the need to scrap maternal fees (Nyamupinga) and the need for government to provide free mensural pads as well as panties of corse (Mushonga) because most women can not afford them. The two have got support from Nelson Chamisa, Nyasha Chikwinya and others according to reports. This is a good sign of a legislature that has lost focus. Where do these MPs think the government will get money from to do these things? I want to advise them that instead of wasting time compaigning for manor from heaven, maybe they should start motions that promote foreign direct investment and creating jobs for the jobless youths. If everyone has their job, they will afford the pads and the maternal fees. Maybe also Beatrice should think along ways in which government may control population growth. If maternal fees are removed, will that not cause high birth rates, overpopulation and overcrowding to a country that already can not secure jobs for its people, let alone medicines, water and the pads etc... TOLL GATE FEES The Transport Ministry is the first so far I know which is trying to overstretch the economy beyond its means. There is no justification in increasing those toll gate fees when already people have no money in their pockets. We say thank you to the Lawyers who are trying to stop Obert Mpofu from the toll fees hike madness. There is no money in your current ministry as much as your previous one Mr Mpofu. Instead of hiking the fees, you could have sought long term loans from international financiers through Public-Private Sector Partnerships. FAKE DEGREES Guys this fellow called Enrico Sibanda is up to no good I tell you. He is dishing out fake degrees to unsuspecting recipients in a very alarming way. And he chooses the recipients so carefully to attract relevance and also to get support and security for his dubious Philanthropic Institute of Zimbabwe. For instance, what has Gershon Pasi done to deserve an honorary doctorate in Philanthropy? What about all those other people, top class people who naturally want doctorates but cant tolerate even a single day in class. Worse, Sibanda is trying to win the hearts of our music icon Oliver Mutukudzi fans by conferring a doctorate on him. I think he must be arrested this fellow. The evidence is there clearly. He even have the courage to give Commissioner General Augustine Chihuris wife Isabel a fake degree. (Energy Mutodi holds a BA and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe)
