OFF TOPIC From the Office of the Commissioner re Fines and Sanctions on last Fridays Finals Game 2: Upon review and careful evaluation, the Office of the Commissioner is hereby imposing the following sanctions for the various infractions committed during Game 2 of the Philippine Cup Finals: San Miguel Beer 1.Ronald Tubid is fined P10,000 for a flagrant foul 1 committed on Calvin Abueva and P3,000 for flopping. 2. David Semerad is fined P5,000 for a double foul with Dondon Hontiveros which this Office has upgraded to a flagrant foul 1. 3. Arwind Santos is fined P1,000 for engaging in trash talk with Calvin Abueva. Alaska Aces 1. Assistant coach Louie Alas is fined P20,000 for physically contacting a game official. 2. Dondon Hontiveros is fined P5,000 for a double foul with David Semerad which this Office has upgraded to a flagrant foul 1. 3. Vic Manuelis fined P5,000 for a flagrant foul 1 committed on David Semerad. 4. Calvin Abueva is fined P10,000 for a flagrant foul 1 committed on Arwind Santos (upgraded from a non-call), P3,000 for flopping, P1,600 for the second motion technical foul on Chris Ross and P1,000 for engaging in trash talk with Arwind Santos. The sanctions on the utility personnel of the San Miguel Beermen and Alaska Aces who were seen to have physically contacted players on the opposing side will be determined in due time. In the meantime, they have been instructed not to report for todays game.
