OFF-TOPIC, but not entirely: From the Creator of THE PUNISHER, Gerry Conway, I recommend a 1988 mini-séries from DC Comics CINDER AND ASHE. Beautifully drawn by Jose L Garcia Lopez, this crime/action chronicles the adventures of an unlikely duo, Jacob Ashe (a cajun Nam vet) and Cinder DuBois (the orphaned daughter of a Black GI and a vietnamese woman) as they work as private détectives in New Orléans. They investigate the kidnapping of a farmers daughter and it gets complicated and violent right quick. This is a four issue mini-séries. It contains flashbacks of the characters lives in Vietnam and how they met back then, Like I stated before, great art, compelling story telling, great three dimensional characters with very distinctive voices, twists and turns, depth, action...This is a great piece of work. I found a set of these at last weeks Montréal comic-con (it has ads for upcoming comics like BATMAN THE CULT and THE KILLING JOKE) but I believe its been released in trade format. comics.org/series/3579/covers/
