OGTV/OGBC To Meet July 2015 Deadline On Digitized Broadcasting The General Manager of the State owned Television, OGTV Alhaji Ayinde Soaga says efforts are in top gear to produce an interesting and highly competitive media contents for the positive development of the State. Alhaji Soaga gave the assurance while taking his turn to defend the Station’s 2015 budget before the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Abeokuta. He also assured that the Station was poised to be the Nation’s foremost digital medium with ‘world – wide coverage, projecting and sustaining its core values and pride of the nation’, hence it has proposed the sum of N1.796bn as total expenditure for the next fiscal year. A breakdown of the budget revealed that total receipt stood at N250m, recurrent expenditure was put at N396m, while capital expenditure would gulp N1.4bn. The General Manager also promised to meet the June 2015 deadline for the migration from Analogue to Digital Transmission for efficiency and quality signal strength. Also, the General Manager, Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Engr. Tunde Awolano said that the station would continue to improve the station’s signal strength, thereby increasing the audience base of the two bands (AM & FM) and the media rating, he therefore put forward a total of N608m as total expenditure for 2015. Awolana further stated that for the mission to improve the station to be accomplished, a total of N228m is to be expended on personnel, while N70m would go for overhead cost making a total of N298m for recurrent expenditure. Awolana said that the State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) had achieved its 24 years long term dream of having a digitized studio for broadcasting just commissioned last week by the state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
