Well, it is 2:40am and I have refrained all day of the 21st of reminiscing of my Fathers passing 1 year ago, now yesterday. But, I feel the need to speak of such a monumental time in my life and the lives of sooo many in my family. We lost our dad.....Its crushed us.....Its changed our lives forever, undoubtedly.....I know that I am forever changed. Im not sure God ever really intended for us to get so attached to another human-being, but, that being said, I did and the loss of my dad 1 year ago has proven to be tragic.....devastating.....borderline unbearable for these past 365 days, even. Life has gone on.....it has a way of doing that on its own, but to say its been easy would be a complete and utter lie. I spent MANY a night awaking to panic just thinking about dad not being there any longer. I spent many UK Basketball games just awaiting his call, both before and after the games, whether we won or lost. I spent a ton of my time trying to forget.....trying to remember to not call a dad who could no longer answer. Its crushed me to my core, for sure and it has forever changed my life. My dad wasnt just my dad. He was my best friend and a mirror image of who I am today. I have a 24/7 reminder of him from the moment I get up in the a.m and I couldnt be more proud of that fact. He wasnt the best of men at times, but he was the best of people that could ever have lived. May not make sense to many seeing this, but you would just have to know my dad to understand. He was, is and always will be my hero.....Hes stronger than Superman, more savvy than Batman, more amazing than Spiderman and more incredible than the Hulk. Hes dad.....he was MY dad and he will always be the hero of my heart. I miss him beyond belief and Im certain that will never change. Heres my song to you, daddio!
