OGUN 2015. We must get it right! Prior to the 2011 general elections, the good people of Ogun fell for the propaganda, lies and deceits dolled out by the then opposition and now the government in power. The situation now is more of regret than blessing to the state in all ramification except for the area of road construct. As we get set for the elections in 2015, we just must get things right. Once we get the first things wrong in our bit to have good replacement for the incumbent, it is the complaint, hardship, demotion, destruction, retrenchment, seizure, sack, scrapping, merging, cancellation, contract inflation, non regular payment of salaries, redondancy of local government and alleged illegal deductions of local government funds etc we get from everywhere today that will always ensue. For us to get it right in Ogun State, the right man with the right mentality, competence and fully prepared is all that is needed to get things right and done. Once we can be able to get it right by choosing the man most suitable for the job, then social, economic and political development will be in leaps and bounds. Managing the affairs of a state is not a tea party, as some has pointed out severally. But our people often act most of the time as if they are not concerned. Some will tell you once their businesses or jobs are doing well, those in government can as well go to hell and do whatever they want. Unfortunately, it is later they mostly realize to their regrets that once the wrong people or persons without visions or ideas of what the people want like we have today are allowed to run the affairs of government neither businesses nor jobs will go well. ... reasons why we must all put all hands on deck to effect a more people friendly change who knows what the people want and not what he thinks the people would like. ... As stakeholders in the Ogun project, we must all work towards bringing on board a man with clear vision. With definite mission and a set goal(s) which be evidently stated along with the objectives that will ensure that a wrong turn is not taken in our drive towards the stated direction for the benefit of the people who put such government in place. If we hardly allow just anybody to run our private businesses? By recruiting the best hands and not allowing mediocre people without visions, commitment or ideas to come run our businesses ........... Why do we have to leave the running of a sophisticated state like ours and it government in the hands of individuals and group of persons without the prerequisite to run Ogun State? Ogun State is too sophisticated and endowed to be left in the hands of clueless persons and as such we require the best man who will tap into all available potentials to move Ogun State to the next level. A major intervention is required for Ogun people in order to ameliorate the crippling effect of a downward economy and living standard of Ogun people. Sina Kawonise ...
