OGUN STATE INVESTORS FORUM The Second Edition of the Ogun State Investors Forum will hold on May 21 and 22, Governor Ibikunle Amosun has disclosed. Amosun said the keynote address of the forum, which will focus onAgriculture and Urban Development would be delivered by former President of Mexico, Mr. Felipe Calderon Hinojosa. He described agriculture and urban development as veritable means to create wealth and further boost the economy of the state, adding thatIndeed, when we look at the vast potential employment opportunities embedded in agriculture, the comparative advantage in land mass, we can feed ourselves and other states in South West region and create wealth if the value chain system is strictly followed. We asked ourselves what made it possible for our forbears, the Baba Awolowos of those days, to provide free education, health, build schools, construct roads and create wealth for the people in the Western Region when oil has not been discovered, we realised it was primarily through agricultural development by exploring its potentials and opportunities to the fullest and we know we can do same today for our people, he said. The governor said the first edition of the Investors Forum held on March 26 and 24 has attracted over 45 companies with capital investments of between N200 million and N250 million as well as very long list of intending investors. Highlighting the urban development strides of his government, the governor disclosed that it intends to build a world class housing estate to be known as the Mission To Rebuild Ogun State (MITROS) City that will make ogun state habitable for anyone within and across the nation, irrespective of their social class.
