If this video does not fill you with awe, and perhaps a few tears..... it zooms into and pans across a recent 1 billion pixel Hubble Telescope photo of the Andromeda galaxy (closest galaxy to ours), estimated to contain 1 trillion stars. For perspective, keep in mind that the millions of apparent densely clustered stars in the photo are spaced many light years from each other, such that if you were on a planet orbiting one of those stars, Andromedas night sky would look similar to our own night sky. The larger, brighter stars in the photo are stars from our own galaxy. I am blown away by the immensity of this galaxy, and to think there are billions of galaxies in our universe.
