OH! PLEASE LET THIS DOG GET TO KNOW TRUE LOVE!!! According to his owner, Doc was purchased from a pet store and sadly, was only seen as some sort of guard dog. What a loss to them not to have known and appreciated the loyalty and affection he would have given them if they had just treated him right. But now, after 4 years, Doc’s owner decided they’re allergic to the dog they’ve basically kept outside all this time. And Doc’s whole world seems to have been that back yard so you can just imagine the confusion and fear he felt when he suddenly got brought to sit in a cramped cage at Brooklyn ACC. What would be his job there? How was he supposed to relate to the other dogs and those strange new people? Predictably, Doc has not done well and they can’t seem to even figure out how to get him out his crate. ACC’s solution-just put him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list and make him New Hope only. So tonight, Doc is looking for those folks out there who understand the boundless loyalty of a GSD and the confusion when everything he’s been expected to be is suddenly deemed bad. Doc needs a very skilled foster or adopter who is willing and able to work with a rescue to get him the training he needs so that he can once more be the cute friendly little puppy that his owners originally got. He needs to go back to his instincts of being someone’s dog—not just a yard ornament. So if that’s you, step up to foster or adopt Doc. At 4 years old, he more than deserves his first chance at a real life.
