OK Folks... Many of you know that I was the roll over accident on Hwy 1 at about 6:00am this morning on my way to work. A guy in a two tone dark red/brown import minivan came over, didnt shoulder check at all, and just drove over into my lane. I swerved to avoid him and applied my brakes. My traction on the grass was not good or even so as soon as the lane cleared I retook the lane, but it is my belief, that I made contact with his van at the very back of my pickup truck. Which sent me into a tail spin. Soon I was just heading for the median. I dont actually know whether the trick rolled or not, some witnesses said I did but my pickup was a total write off. I was taken care of, on the scene, by several lovely people and o am extremely thankful and appreciative that they were there. One was a Corrections employee another was a paramedic on her way to work and I think two were plain clothes police. Also, thank you to the paramedics and firemen who all helped carry me up the embankment of the median. I am thankful to all of them for all their help. In the end, I spent about 6 hours in Trauma and had a little bit of surgery my ear was reattached,(mostly) and I had my very first couple doses of morphine in my life! Which did very little....but I think it took the edge off. Im also very thankful I had a terrific Surgeon who did a great job on my ear, very nice nursing staff and a very helpful and understanding Attending Abbotsford police officer that took my statement and really treated me decently like a human being. Thank you so much. And even though my truck is toast Im very happy and thankful to be alive today. Last but not least Id like to thank Lena and Ingrid for being there with me the whole time. Supporting me, cleaning me up and taking really good care of me. Thank you so much, I love you both for caring for me and continuing to care for me at home.
