OK. I admit I gave up on this team around midseason and they stormed back. I about gave up again down the stretch as they struggled with Detroit and Cleveland and the White Sox. They looked frustrated. The dugout looked flat. The manager looked like he was not up to the task. I gave up on them in the Wildcard game when they were down big, and then they came back against the As. At the moment they pulled out that win, I said that was the height of my expectation of them and anything beyond that would be gravy. I then saw them sweep the Angels and the Orioles in the playoffs and then I wanted the gravy. This is a young team, a fast team and a team that has kindled some magic. The dugout is electric. Ned Yost has made all the right calls. They are diving, crashing into walls, leaping over rails. And then there is Billy Butler. I cannot help but connect. Tonight is likely a game that will determine who takes home all the marbles. Bumgarner is an unmovable force. Only if they crack him, and Big Game James Shields earns his nickname, will the Royals solidify their prospects. I cling to hope. I am keeping the faith alive for the boys in blue. I am just so thankful to see them back, playing with enthusiasm, and with a very young lineup that is set for the next couple of years. And there is a little fact that this series will be decided at the K. Go Royals!
