OK, I have had it with Wal Mart Pharmacy! My doctor prescribed an ointment and I went to fill it. They told me that my insurance denied the claim and that the cost would be $5004.00!!!!!! Joking???? Mistake?????...no, I was told they dont make mistakes! So I went back to my doctors office and told them what they told me. They told me to go down the street to R&S #3 and they had the same medication for $10.00 OVER THE COUNTER! I did go and pick it up,. I called Wal Mart back and told them what had just transpired and said I want you to know what it cost me somewhere else. The first pharmacy assistant told me that the Rx that my doctor wrote was entirely different than the one I called about. I went online when I got home and the Rx the doctor wrote was for the same generic medicine by another name. I again called and asked to talk to the head pharmacist. I went thru the whole ordeal that I had been thru. She check her computer and it was listed as $5004.00! I told her it was obvious someone made a huge error. She told me that they dont put that info in the computer that headquarters does that. But she would let them know the discrepancy. She checked and they do have the generic. I told her they NEVER offered me the generic after they told me the cost of the Name Brand! BUT, there should have not been that HUGE amount of difference in the 2 prices! She assured me that did happen on occasion. Dont know if she will contact corporate or not, BUT she said she would.. I believe I am ready to change to another pharmacy! JUST venting the TRUTH!
