OK, I just got done reading the Newspaper article on the boards justification for raises, Quote... Board members agreed the biggest push was made to increase Principal Cushings salary to a level more equivalent with his peers in the Northern Illlinois Big 12 Conference. Are you kidding me? Do they realize what the tax base is in Yorkville, Dekalb etc. You know this goes all the way to Springfield where they have been kicking the can down the road for over 30 years, Quinn and the rest of them have been stealing money from the teachers union for other projects thinking they could pay it back only to have the economy go south in 08. I believe everyone is mad because we all have been affected by the down turn in the economy, So, why all of us have been eating crow the teachers have received their pay raises at the expense of the tax payers. Im all for everyone getting pay hikes even teachers but when the economy is in the shape its in everyone must suffer the consequences not just the taxpayers.
