Round 10 Eastside defeated Lajamanu by 105 points. Eastside got back on the winners list in a dominant performance which moves us into 3rd position on the ladder. This was a great effort from a team coming off a disappointing loss the week before. All the players worked hard for each other all game. The Swans didnt give up though and made it a contest all the way through and if they were a bit more accurate in front of goals it would have been a lot closer, especially with Lajamanu boasting an ex Gold Coast Suns player who was a bit of a handful in the first half. But Eastside step it up a gear and put them well and truly out of the game in the third quarter. Up forward there was nothing but winners with D.Turner using his pace to burn his opponents off and than kicking six goals, P.Kossack is starting to turn into another strong target up forward kicking Four goals and moving himself into fourth on the Leading goal kickers ladder, but it was W.Kossack who out shown the rest of the team putting on a best on ground performance by setting up numerous amounts of goals and kicking a bag himself and than turning it on by taking a spectacular screamer in the second quarter, this game cemented him as the best forward in the comp by a mile again this year. In the middle the ruck duo of D.Lines and M.Derksen was too good for the oppositions ruckmen by giving the first use of the ball to our midfield who with the dangerous H.Bennell getting it into our potent forward line efficiently and the ever reliable S.Carr getting the hard ball all around the ground and getting himself in the right spots to cut out the opposition attack and rebound it forward. The backline had a lot of pressure taken off of them this week with the midfield working in sync which allowed our back men too only have to defend the Swans forward players, but with that said everyone of them put in a top effort getting the ball out of there quickly and efficiently and taking strong marks when needed. Hopefully with this win it ignites all the boys passion to get out on the field and start working like the unit we were last year. Thanks to all the supporters who keep turning up week in and week out. Best: M.Derksen, D.Turner, W.Kossack
