OK, I just watched another ‘Bigfoot’ show. I see theses so called experts and I have to wonder. How open are their minds? Think about it, supposedly Bigfoot is either a hairy human, or a missing link on our evolutionary chain, or a mysterious simian. Why is their scope so narrow? What if they were extreme hibernationists? Say one of our humanoid ancestors developed a hibernation ability. It is not as rare as you think. In Canada we have a frog that can freeze solid!! But, in spring comes back to life. This is due to certain enzymes in it’s blood. In Africa, toads can stay cocooned in dirt for decades until the rains come back, when they emerge to breed. Mammals hibernate also, bears for example, their heart rates slow, body temp drops, and they get through winter. Life is amazing in how it can adapt. And if North America was populated by these creatures. It stands to reason that after the last ice age most were wiped out! The glaciers swept over central North America, crushing everything in their path, but the coasts were left unhindered due to the fact that our last ice age was only a partial one, no ‘snowball earth’. That being said, the most reliable sightings have been in the western coastal regions on North America. Incidentally, where the ice did not reach. So, imagine these are creatures that only wake up every few years to feed and breed. It is not that far fetched. It would explain the rarity of sightings, the fact that most sightings are during the late summer and early autumn when food is plentiful, and that we have never found them, because they are almost always denned. Just something to help ‘open your minds’
