OK. Im going to be real here and a little harsh, but its been a hellava year. If you love an artists work, you need to support them - and this does not just mean telling them that you really like their work. That is wonderful. We all love to hear that. It helps our egos. Unfortunately, it does not help us live. For us to continue to create, we have to sell things. We have to make money. I know that times are hard for almost everyone right now. But, I hear so many people say, I love your work, but I cant afford anything. I have pieces and prints that easily cost less then three fast food meals. Most people can choose to eat at home a few times in order to get a piece of art from an artist they want to continue to be an artist. Those three fast food meals translate to a little bit of a mortgage payment, food on our table, our kids lunch money. Very few of us are getting rich doing what we do. We do it because we are good at it and feel like we need to. But, if we cant make money, we have to stop. Period. Dont get me wrong, we want you to love what you buy. But, if you love it, remember how much of an impact you can have on that artists life by that single purchase. If this offends you, feel free to stop following me.
