OK. So, to give you the update on Tina gets screwed again. Back story...... (May 24) I was rescheduled to one week later for pain management that put my medicine to 3 days left. I was prescribed a pain med (May 31) that needed to be pre authorized. Pre authorization takes 24 to 48 business days to complete. (June 4) Found out that I needed to take the prescript to the pharmacy so the doctor could get the form. (June 5) Found out that we needed to go oxy or morphine before the other med. (June 6) Doctor wanted the pre auth to be fought for. (June 13) Insurance still not received pre auth fight request because they were being routed to the wrong part of Humana. (June 14) Went in for a back injection. Doctor gave me Vicodin prescription and we decided to continue with the Nucynta, the woman had the info and everything ready to send it to the correct person at Humana. (June 17) Called insurance and they have not received the preauth info yet again, called doctors office. The girl handling this was no longer with the doctors office and spoke to the person that really handles this. Had to have the pharmacy refax the request then had to wait until (June 20) for the doctor to be in the office so he could sign the form. (June 21) Received a message that the doctors office spoke with a direct insurance person that would deal with it personally and it would take 24 to 48 hours. (June 25) Called insurance and could not remember the insurance ladies name, but the preauth was not being worked. Doctors office lady had left for the day. (June 26) Called doctors office and spoke to her and she said that she faxed the form to the insurance lady. Someone took that form and sent it off to a different department, but she has the form now. Why do they not have a way to do this faster? This is not like getting your meal wrong at a restaurant and they give you a free meal. I do not get any compensation for this at all. Why is it that I can get a addictive pain medication within mins, but when it comes to something that is not suppose to have addictive properties, I can not get it. I have said it before, it would be so much easier to be a druggie.
