OK WHAT THE HELL. I WANT U Its owned by General Motors, and the car spends most of its time at their museum. Those pictures are from the Fiero 20th anniversary show back in 2004. GM/Pontiac brought out most of their prototypes (including a convertible prototype, a turbo PPG prototype, a 1990 prototype, etc). Yeah it was never supposed to make production, having a 2+2 MR car like that is like making a mid-engine FWD car, its almost useless with that gigantic wheelbase. I doubt itd handle very well. But at the time they made that prototype the Fiero was in limbo (in 1987 or 1988) and they were considering making a F-body FWD replacement using a variation of the Fiero chassis, similar to what Ford was doing with the Probe and the Mustang. They were also going to start making family cars with a variation of the Fiero chassis. From what I understand though that part came true, Saturn (which started making cars in 1990) makes family cars on a spaceframe similar to a Fiero. The differences were too much though and Saturn needed a new factory. The Fiero was only selling 30,000-40,000 cars a year and it was being made in a factory designed to make 150,000 a year. Without another car sharing the factory the Fiero was killed. Even when it was killed and was losing money it was outselling the AW11 MR2 and most other 2-seaters of the day.
