OK, day three of thanks, I missed yesterdays because I was too - TopicsExpress

OK, day three of thanks, I missed yesterdays because I was too busy being thankful in real life instead of being on this bloody time-consuming Facebook thing. LoL. I am thankful for: 1. My career. I finished my BSc. (Internet Computing) in Semester 2, 2004 and graduated from Edith Cowan University in 2005. While it wasnt my preferred career path, my Tertiary Enterance Ranking of 69.75 got me into ECU and after a shaky first semester, I never looked back. Yeah, I know... 69.75 is a pretty average TER, but Year 12 wasnt a very good time in my life, but I got there in the end! I am thankful for being given this opportunity. It has seen me go from helpdesk / support to web developer to consultant and team leader, all the way through to project management. I now find myself in an all-rounder role with Programmed who I am INCREDIBLY thankful to be working for. The team is awesome, they have me on a good wicket and the perks associated with the job are awesome. I am extremely thankful for the control I have on my workload and the work/life balance in place. Being in a stable environment where employees are so highly valued is something I have always been thankful for, but havent always had. So yeah, my career kicks ass, and I am setting up some solid foundations for my life goals. 2. My hobbies. I am so thankful to be able to hit the gym. Working out is so much fun. Challenging myself with new exercises and upping the output each time is so much fun. I hope to get my body fat percentage levels down to low single figures! I am thankful I have quality gym equipment at my fingertips. I am thankful for the healthy food that Australian farmers produce. Running Morpheus Management is also amazing. I am so thankful that we have awesome talent here in Perth and working with the bands has been a real pleasure and privilege for me. Im not going to tag all of you, but please rest assured that I am so thankful for the opportunities that you all present to Morpheus Management. Same goes for the 9 years of antics in Pyromesh and now with the mighty King Onion. Music is a fantastic outlet and something I am very thankful for having been involved in for over a decade now. I am thankful we have a great local music scene, but as identified by both Melanie Scrafton and myself, we can see many areas for improvement. Being able to collaborate with people like Mel, is amazing! 3. My faith. Australian Rules Football. I am so thankful that Australia plays the GREATEST sport to grace this planet. Australian Rules, is THE BEST! I am also thankful that I support Carlton Football Club, a club of rich history and not some soulless franchise. Serving on the WA Blues - Carlton Football Club Member Network WA committee has been one of lifes greatest pleasures, honours and privileges. While its a loveless job, and its volunteer work, it was extremely satisfying today for WA Blues to be awarded as Carltons Supporter Group of the Year for 2014. Im so thankful that after all the years of hard work that we are being recognised for our efforts. As for the club itself, Im hoping that the change in senior management sees some more successful times for Carlton. A big picture plan to restore Carlton as the premier club of the competition is LONG OVERDUE. I just hope it doesnt involve more silver tailing and underhanded payments. What I admire about Carlton is that they copped their whack for their systematic salary cap breaches. Something Essendon should take note of, instead of putting their image ahead of the fairness of the competition. Im just a little dishevelled after a crap season, however... Bring on 2015! GO BLUES! I believe!
