OK folks here is the story on our little miss Cheyanne Way. After being seen at the Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis today, we have decided to have surgery in late May or June of 2014 so that she will not miss any school, and her casts will be off in time to return to school. They will extend some muscles in the groin area, inject botox in to her hamstrings, loosen some muscles around her anckle, and straighten one foot. She will be in a cast from the groin down for 4-6 weeks then braces for 4-6 weeks and they will re evaluate if she will need to contenue wearing a brace or if she can go with out. IF she does her therapy like she is suppose to there is a good likelihood that she will not need braces for life. Good news! Yes it will be difficult for a while BUT we can do it :) We have a good support group with you all and a lot of prayer warriors on our side. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for us through this process. We will be headed home tomorrow after we go to the Planetarium.....and maybe the botanical gardens IF it is not raining.
