OK, heres a story for ya. Last night, while he was driving, Darryl wasnt paying attention (I know, big surprise, right?) & went thru the car lane at the US Border Patrol checkpoint in New Mexico on I-10 west (there are signs for about 2 miles telling the cars to stay in the left lane & for trucks to go to the right). He woke me up to tell me, but what can I do about it, so I stayed in the bunk & tried to stay asleep. The border patrol officer asked his usual questions (are you a US citizen, is there anyone with you, are they a citizen). Then the guy asks Darryl why hes in the car lane. Typical Darryl style, he starts talking... Then the guy asks: Sir, have you been smoking??? Ahahahahahaha!!! Im back in the bunk laughing hysterically hard, but not making a sound! The officer asks Darryl if they can do a search of his truck, he readily agrees. He gets out & they tell him to tell me to get out too. Heres how it went down: Me: Am I under arrest? Officer: No. Me: then Im not getting out. Officer: we would like to do a search of your truck. Me: I know my rights, you cannot enter my truck without a search warrant & I am NOT giving you permission to search it. Then I heard him tell Darryl to stand back & they were going to have the search dog to a search of the outside only. Whew!! They wouldnt have found anything illegal, but they could have detained us & caused us lots of wasted time... All cuz I didnt want to get out of bed!! LOL! oh the excitement of driving with Darryl!! Hee hee hee!!!
