OK so I am sure i will get a ton of crap for this post but to be honest i just dont care I am beyond all the talk... High school principal Mitch Shaw and USD 446 superintendent Chuck Schmidt should be removed from their positions due to conduct including but not limited to: Discrimination against special needs, violating the Individuals with Disabilities Act which states that every child be granted the same education, promoting a hostile educational environment, limiting free speech, intimidation, exhibiting a lack of understanding of special needs students necessary to fulfill their employment obligations to such students and taxpayers, defamation of character, maintaining poor records and a lax bullying policy, and a general lack of character required by those in their respective positions. This has been sent and people are signing it.. and ok I get the fact that a young boy took his own life but to try and put blame on anyone is beyond me.. That young man dealt with bullies as do so many special needs children and others in school.. do schools need to do better yes but if we are going to use this situation as an example lets do so at its full extent... One a teenager took his own life so where were the parents when this happened.. are you telling me there were no signs?? blame the school he hasnt been to in over a year that makes since how about we blame the college because if thats where he was attending school your telling me everyone there was nice to him??? In my opinion signing this isnt going to fix anything blaming someone for this boys death will do nothing.. There are so many ways this could be looked at and no one has the guts to look at it from any position other then oh poor kid.. How about five years ago when a baseball player at the age of 16 couldnt take the pressure of being a gay baseball player that got picked on and took his own life and was bashed for it.. saying how he was going to hell so is that the case here no instead its oh he has special needs so thats ok dont you realize that sounds just as bad. We are told to treat special needs the same.. So what is it one day its put them in reg. classes and treat them with respect and the next its on no we need point out that they are diff. and treat them special.. Give me a break.. Instead of blaming people for things how about we educate them.. So bring on the comments..
