OK, so I posted about the Ashton Carl getting my mom talk that he has to try his best even if he isnt good at it yet. There is more to this drama and the coach did chuckle at us cause he even knows the deal. On the sideline after I finally pulled him over about not even trying on the back handspring, Ashton Carl says sternly, Look! Then he jumps up and falls on his butt Then he says, See? See? I cant go over, I cant do them by myself thats why! THEN I told him, I dont care if its perfect but you are going to try. Now though in a weird way after he went back and did them after class he felt more accomplished and ironically Im kind of giggling to myself now cause that memory has to happen. We all have our conflicts with our parents. Our parents refuse to ever see us give up. I remember my last year of college I was talking to my dad on the phone like I normally did around final/ jury times and usually crying and I always said, Daddy, I know you want me to get an education *sniff* *sniff* but I just dont think I can Dad, I just think Im not going to make it Im just not that smart Im just never going to graduate *hiccup* Finally (Cause this was routine) Dad says (Remember he was a counselor ) OK sweetheart, that is fine its what you want and I support you. I never wanted you to go for me. Its for your education and your talent. College is not everything and I never had to have you go to college I just want you to be educated in a field you enjoy and college had your field in it. I was silent and then was like, What? Are you kidding me? That is what you tell me? I was needing you to say, Youre gonna make it! Im not giving up Im almost to graduation! What kind of advice was that? I was very annoyed and I could hear my dad silently laughing in the back. I ended up hanging up and I ended up graduating too and my daddy never got that phone call about giving up again!:) Daddy knew exactly what to say
