OK, so here is how it was. Got up at 5:00 pacific time. Took a shower and shaved my head. Down geared my camp. Unloaded everything out of the trailer and the bike trunk in an effort to fix my running lights on the trailer. Got those fixed and loaded up everything. Told the lady at Rivers Edge Rv Park that we were headed out on California Hwy 36 eastbound. She advised against it, saying it was very crooked and steep. Told her thats why we were here. Headed out into the fog. Visibility was less than 1/2 mile, temp was approx 62 degrees. Heated jackets on, Bradley Rogg and were into the shit. Well, we got over the first 10 miles of twisters and busted out into the sun and it was about 80 degrees already. Stopped and down geared to just long sleeved shirts, and the twisters just came comin! Seeing as how we were doing so good, Mother Nature decided to throw in some nuisance rain at us. We forged on. Getting up to 95 degrees, stopped to refresh our Gatorades and down gear into sleeveless shirt and get them chaps off. Ate a couple of fresh cherries and mounted back up. Then had to dodge loose gravel and rock slides in the path. No problem, got ear done. Next, had some loose dogs to deal with! Done that. Next, hwy got real narrow and didnt have any marked centerline. Got that done. Next deer and elk. Got past that. Next, no speed zones posted at any corners to indicate just how radical the curve was. Next, 98 degrees. Had to stop 3 times and rest from the wrestling match with the wing and trailer. However, we prevailed and rode all the way, past Lake Tahoe, to Carson City Nevada. My wife Cheryl Stansbury made motel reservations for us at a motel 6 where we commenced to just die! All I can say is in the world of snow skiing, you have green runs for beginners, blue runs for intermediate, Blake Diamond runs for experts, Double black Diamonds for the insane, well, California Hwy 36 rates in my book as a TRIPLE BLACK DIAMOND. Anyone who has experienced this ride is most definitely a BIKER! That ought to sum up our Monday for all you Bikers out there!
