OK... this is just the appetizer to whet your appetite. I cant wait anymore. Im uploading a Picasa album of all of the photos I took tonight and I hope when I post the link you WILL go to the album and view these amazing flowers...! Remember 2 weeks ago I posted pictures of these huge buds on a giant cactus that I saw at Meir Hospital when I went to visit Felix? And I went back a day or two later to visit again and they still were not blooming?? Well.... Seth (God bless you, Seth Greenberg!) told me that they used to have such a cactus in their yard, and it only blooms at night! I couldnt believe it. He said it was a gorgeous white flower.... Then last week, I saw on a street a few blocks from me, the same cactus - also with those juicy buds... So... on Erev Shavuot, on my way home from the Tikkun Leyl Shavuot, I walked up the neighboring street to have a look for myself. And there, in the wee hours was one beautiful flower... Breath-taking. Of course - no camera... Last night it was too hot to go anywhere! So tonight, after Id come home from teaching in Ramat Gan I realiazed that if I didnt go to photograph tonight, Id have to wait until Saturday night, and who knows how long they flower for? So I grabbed my camera and went out to visit the cactus... I was not disappointed. It was breathtaking! Truly! I was so excited! So here are a few teasers.
