OK you fellow cat people, Ive got a couple of questions. Though it is still early in the game (three days), Miss Bluebell Meadows has some behaviors that I dont completely understand. She is exceedingly affectionate (already established, right?) I mean, she just wants to lay on me and lick my face, reach out her paws and touch my face. Wonderful, but a little overwhelming. She hardly knows me yet. Is this a sign that maybe she is very people-oriented and just went through major upheaval in her life, will just need time to get used to this new domestic security and constancy? She comes flying when she hears the door opening. She wants to go out in the hall with me, but cats arent allowed there, and even if they were, Im awfully close to one of the building exits. She runs around like banshee, seems panicked, not calm at ALL. Is this use another part of her being in a new place and needs more time to get used to it? Finally, she wants to put her face in EVERYTHING I eat and drink. Her past owner must have spoiled her rotten with people food, because she thinks my mealtime is her mealtime. Shell get up in my lap and start reaching for stuff. As though shes never eaten before. And shell hardly eat her dry food, only wet. She meows a LOT, sometimes wakes with a start SCREAMING. Scares the crap outta me. I wont even go into the long hair/poo issues yet. Because I think she might just possibly be a special needs cat, and hey, shell need help with stuff. Oh wait, wait, hold the phone … she just got up crying loudly and ran. Didnt make it to the litterbox. Think I can kiss that towel goodbye now. Is it all the change? What do you think?
